I’ve never been a big fan of fake flowers. To me they’re kinda like fake boobs – some make you exclaim, “Wow, they look so real!” and others make you think, “Why on earth would they put those things on display?!” As much as I dislike fake foliage, I LOVE paper flowers. And apparently I’m not alone – paper flowers are the new DIY darling, gracing our homes and wedding bouquets.
Because I had never made paper flowers before, I decided to start off easy. The flowers I created above only required a few supplies, most of which I had laying around the house.
Supplies:
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Pom poms
- Wooden dowels (I used chopsticks)
- Circle cutter
For detailed instructions, I followed this easy tutorial on the Minted.com blog. The first flower took me ages to create – like nearly 30 minutes. However, once I got the hang of gluing the circular cones together, the remaining flowers went much faster.
To add my own personal touch, I decided to glue cute colorful pom poms in the center of each flower.
