art souvenir vacation travel keepsake

I get so much enjoyment from collecting art. None of my pieces are very expensive and many I’ve actually created myself, however each masterpiece tells a story. My favorite way to acquire art is on vacation, particularly from street artists. These pieces make some of the best souvenirs. I’ve been traveling a lot lately, so I’ve added a number of pieces to my collection. Each one is just begging to be framed. Here is a little background on each piece.

edinburgh art souvenir red door gallery

Cityscape in the center: I purchased this piece at the Red Door Gallery in Edinburgh. Lately I’ve been thinking about adopting a new design scheme in my master bedroom. I have a connection with the sea and would like to introduce shades of blue and beachy elements into the room. I loved this print straight away and thought it would be a great jumping off point for my beach-themed art collection.

tea card from edinburgh

Vintage pitcher greeting card: Greeting cards make some of the best pieces of art. Why? Because they are incredibly cheap –  usually just a few bucks. I loved the vibrant colors in this artwork and the illustration on the pitcher. This piece was another souvenir from Edinburgh.

church cotswolds souvenir

Cotswold Church:
I found this stunning piece at a local art exhibition in a small town in the Cotswolds. It was only $25.00. Can you believe it? I love getting one-of-a-kind, original pieces of art on the cheap. It’s so satisfying! I just love how the simple pen and ink sketch comes to life with paint.

vintage photo cotswolds

Vintage photo: I found this vintage photo at an antiques fair in the Cotswolds. It’s actually a collectors card that came with a pack of cigarettes. I thought this photo would be a great addition to my beach-themed art collection.

vintage war postcard
Vintage postcard: My mom bought this post card for me when she was in London. Like greeting cards, post cards make great pieces of art. Given my eco-friendly mindset, I love the message of this card.

church picture cotswolds

Church greeting card: This is another purchase from the Cotswolds. The church that is depicted in the artwork was stunning and I just had to have a reminder of it in my home.

Do you collect artwork on vacation?

xoxo,

Andi
