This past weekend I managed to tackle a project that had been on my to do list for ages – recycle all my old magazines. My stockpile was getting pretty tall, so it was definitely time. I turned on some old episodes of House Hunters International and spent an hour or so going through each, ripping out pages I found inspirational. Later this week I will show you how I organize all the things I tear out so I can reference them later.
I love creating collage artwork, so I couldn’t resist cutting out a few words and letters for a DIY project too. I’ve been saving a few empty Illy coffee cans for crafting and thought covering them with words would look really cool. This DIY project is easy, only requiring a few supplies.
Supplies:
Old magazines
Scissors
Modpodge
Canister (I used an old Illy coffee can)
Paintbrush
The most time consuming part of this DIY project is cutting out all the words from magazines. You need to have a variety of different fonts, colors and shapes to choose from, making sure to cut out enough black and white words to add balance to all the color.
